Orthopaedics

Orthopaedic rehabilitation helps people after an injury, prolonged immobilization or surgery. The aim is to restore mobility, strengthen muscles and regain optimal function in everyday activities and sports.

Rehabilitation
“Every step towards mobility is a step towards autonomy.”

Description

Orthopaedic rehabilitation is aimed at people suffering from musculoskeletal disorders or recovering from trauma or surgery. It is used in particular after fractures, sprains, joint prostheses, arthroscopies, tendon or ligament injuries, as well as in the event of amputation, whether the person is already fitted with orthopaedic devices or not.

As a masseur-physiotherapist, I design an individualized program to restore joint mobility, strengthen muscle structures, improve proprioception and support a gradual return to normal activity, whether in daily life, at work or in sport.

Sessions include mobilization, active and progressive exercises, muscle-relaxation techniques and advice tailored to your progress. The aim is to limit pain, prevent complications (stiffness, muscle wasting, compensation) and promote lasting, functional recovery.

Indication

  • Following fractures, sprains, dislocations or muscle tears.
  • Rehabilitation following the fitting of prostheses (hip, knee, shoulder, etc.).
  • Operations on the knee (cruciate ligaments, menisci), shoulder (rotator cuff) or hip.
  • Amputation (with or without braces).
  • Chronic joint pain linked to osteoarthritis or mechanical disorders.
  • Loss of mobility or strength after prolonged immobilisation.
  • Resuming sport after injury or surgery.

Expert Tips

  • Respecting the stages of recovery is essential: Going too fast can delay healing.
  • Progressive and appropriate movement is your best ally to avoid stiffness and regain your abilities.
  • Continue the exercises at home between sessions: Consistency makes all the difference.
  • Listen to your body: Excessive pain, unusual fatigue, or blockage should be reported so the treatment can be adjusted.
